Lead won't store...and is it upgraded?

I bought a Nord Lead on ebay. I'm tweaking my own sounds, but whenever I try to store a program (1-40) my editions don't store. For example, I'll take prog 8, make some changes, and hit store. The 8 starts flashing. I hit store again, and it stops flashing. Good, right? Nope. As soon as I turn it off and back on, it reverts to the original program 8.

Also, when I turn on my Lead, I see a "2.7" in the program window. Any idea what this means. I'm wonding if the guy I bought it from upgraded to a pcmcia card. I've got 2"x3" memorix card that reads:

Static RAM
Memory Card 256KB

on the back it reads:

PC-CARD
Warranty void if removed.

Hmmmm...

And finally, does my first problem have anything to do with the second piece of info?? Thanks guys!

2.7 is the latest update to the NordLead(1).
When the PCMCIA card isn't right to the OS it want to be format. You will lose all saved Programs...

About the saving matter...
You are sure you aren't saving to the PCMCIA card, which is write protected, by any chance?
