Nice to see an Android forum!
I have a year-old Motorola Droid/Milestone, and the music apps I've tried on it didn't perform very well. Big latency, and some I couldn't get any sound out of at all.
It would be interesting to see what you all are using, and what differences there may be in percieved performance.
The apps I've tried have especially suffered when compared to similar stuff on the Apple gadgets. If you are able to compare, it would also be interesting to know if you have been able to get similar quality on an Android app as a corresponding iPhone app. _________________ Antimon's Window

I got an (now old) HTC Hero. One of the problems with android is the always running apps. So look for a task manager to stop all unnecessary processes, saves a lot of cpu time
That way latency is reduced. Upgrading from 1.5 to 2.1 helped too. _________________ Weblog! |

2.3 is supposed to have huge improvements in the sound API for developers. potentially exciting times ahead! _________________ Sonic Crayon DIY effects lab |

FINALLY got 2.2 for my Samsung Vibrant |
 |
|
We bought our Samsuung Vibrants several months ago from T-mobile and was told by the rep that Android 2.2 was a month away from coming out for them.....
Needless to say that never materialized. I saw 2.3 getting ready for release but no word from T-mobile...
So, I went to the forums at T-mobile and they anounced that 2.2 was ready for download - but that they were not sending out any information directly to the phone users since it was not an "OTA" (over-the-air) upgrade. Here is the link they gave to get it:
www.TinyURL.com/KiesMini
The forum has some info you may need to know - like make sure you back up your phone, etc. Note the link above is for the update - you need to log into the T-mobile Samsung-Vibrant forum if you want more details about it. You will need to setup the USB link to let you choose your connection type - and then you will choose the Samsung Kies link.
It took a little while to do the update - but now the phone does seem a bit snappier. Some neat features - Voice-over-WiFi which works good for me here in the basement studio. Need to look at some apps now and see how they do.. _________________ Dave
