Nord Lead 2x Stuck Note Subject description: B above middle C is giving me grief! |
 |
|
I have had my Nord Lead 2x for about a year and a half and love it to death! I first purchased a Electro 2 a year or so before my Lead and have been on the Nord train since. They are by far the best boards out there hands down.
In my 4 years of playing Nord products I have never a problem....until now .
I am having a problem with a stuck note, B above middle C to be exact, and I can not figure out why.
1. when I strike the note it sometimes the note takes a second to respond
2. when I play chromatically up to the note it sounds louder than the rest
3. when I play a chord with that note in it sometimes it does not sound
4. when I strike the note it will infinitely hold until I hit the note again or use the panic feature
It started happening when I was playing a show this past weekend and I thought it was a fluke thing. I then set it up on Monday and tried to recreate the problem and it was still there.
Please help! |

First of all is there still warranty concerning the NordLead2X?
Best is to contact a nearby service station.
If you can´t find any, try the USA distributor:
American Music & Sound
22020 Clarendon St, Suite 305
Woodland Hills, CA 91367
Phone: +1 800 431 2609
nord@americanmusicandsound.com
Try to connect the Electro2 Midi Out to the NordLead2X Midi In. If this will function well there is no problem with the Operating System or internal defects.
Mostly the key contacts underneath the key are dirty.
If you are handy you can clean it yourself, only don’t use to many force!
I direct you to a page where you can see how to open the red hood and what the contacts look like (after taking a bath )
http://nm-archives.electro-music.com/020_NordLead2/Red_Lady/Index_bestanden/Red_Lady/Weighted_part_2.htm
You see the contacts are grouped on a piece og plastic, which is attached to the board by plastic ‘pin-like’ thingies. Try to remove these without breaking the plastic. Now with distilled water and clean cloth or cotton swab clean the inside contacts.
Until so far…
Wout
BTW I answered already but for some reason the post didn't come through... |
