I'm looking for variations in the arpeggios of the Nord Lead 2X arpeggiator.

Have tried to go to 'Special > 2.1-->7' but I think it is more dedicated to external MIDI control and doesn't fit the purpose as there is nothing happening while changing these parameters.

Is there any possibility to have the arpeggios varying other than up/down/random?

Note: I know this can be achieved via an external sequencer but I'm looking for solutions on the synth.

Cheers

Hi again! Very Happy

The Arpeggiator is rather simple, for sure.
But that is why one can do some trick without to much thinking.

The Lead is 4 synthesizers in 1. So you have 4 different Arpeggiators.
To use these together a rude guide line is made at http://nm-archives.electro-music.com/020_NordLead2/Red_Lady/Index_bestanden/Red_Lady/BPM.htm
Only the 120 BPM are exact 120 BPM, the rest is almost to completely useless...
Use the same Program (or slightly different in sound) and the synchronization to an external master clock are important.

When using a Lead instead of a Rack there is another nice feature: Start with only one Slot active and play the keys you need (Hold the keys!). Deactivate the Slot and it will not respond to the KeyBoard anymore, but the now active Slot will. (Release the keys in Hold) Playing the keys (any you like) and it will be added to the pattern. Not only the pitch can be different, also the starting point of the new pattern can change.

[Shift+LFO wave form] will show the Rate of the Arpeggio's. Fun for days!

It will take some time to get things right, but I'm sure it won't take as much as the time needed to form a new gouvernment Very Happy

Oops, I forgot...

Keep in mind Percussion mode is 8 different sounds in 1 set up (all 8 using the same Arp). In this mode you can create complicated patterns using 32 different sounds using 4 different Arps...

Thanks Wout.

I thought we could use the 'LFO2/Arp sync' special function in order to get other variations but it appears to be only possible via an external sequencer.

Cheers,
