Music theory?
Electronics theory?
Synth theory?
Conspiracy theories?
Engineering theory?
Mixing theory?
Not trying to bust, there's just a lot of ground that could be covered with your request... |

As far as books go, _Welsh's Synthesizer Cookbook_ by Fred Welsh is a good place to start. Jim Aiken's _Power Tools for Synthesizer Programming_ is also good (and Jim answers email!), although it's more oriented toward computer-based sound generation.
For the web, just start reading at the bottom of the page and work your way up: http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/allsynthsecrets.htm |

Thanks alot man! i appreciate it alot..
But some books on theory, this was how to do things..
It helps and to know how to do certain things, but i want to know what happends, how things are built, what happends to the wave when going thru certain modules,... though this is only a example, doesnt have to do with synthesizers... But mathmatical equations that can be used in the mixing etc etc stuff like this. |

Gareth Loy - Musimathics 1 + 2
covers almost EVERYTHING there is to know about acoustics, electroacoustics and DSP theory.
The subtitle "the mathematical foundations of music" says it all...... _________________ best regards,

Tho old, this thread seems relevant for a new (2016) wiki on the dB and perception. It's at the bottom of the list of publications at www.filmaker.com/papers.htm. BTW other downloads on this page explores a $30 DIY phono stage, Ambiophonics (using the AmbiophonicDSP plugin exclusively at electro-music.com), the eBook "American Radio Then & Now" on Amazon, etc. _________________ Robin Miller |
