hi everyone!
i am michael (35) from germany, working on obscure music since twenty years right now. after a long way through lots of rubbish, that i´ve
put out, i finally reached the point to speak out here. That´s because, i finally feel comfortable about my recent (last 10!! years ) output. But only the last three years enabled me to produce "real" music, that i can agree with. everyone, who wants to know what i´m talking about should visit me on www.himer-entertainment.de . find out what i meant with real music in the kommerz-section. Some of the old band-stuff and other electronic stuff from the past may be found under unkommerz etc. . up till now, there´s not so many tracks to download, but there will be more soon.
anyone who likes my work or hates it: feel free to contact. if i would be a better webdesigner, there would be guestbook... let´s see for the future!
And there will be an english version soon!! i promise, because german isnt a world language (thank god!)
Even though, my approach to my website may be a little unserious and funny, i insist that everything in the kommerz-section is from the deep serious abyss of my heart and mind.

Interesting music!. One of the "old" tracks sounds like a fusion take on Can and Hawkwind.. never heard anything like it before _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

Thanks for the flowers!!
Believe me, it was a hard business to perform that kind of music back home in Bavaria in a rather small town, where no one was able to understand what you are doing. In our early band-days, we had a lot of strange additional equipment on stage (e.g. tablas, vibraphon, djembe, a roland saturn09-organsynthie ) so sometimes people walked into the location and took a fast step back. Some asked if we were doing "Hare-Krishna"-Music. those who stayed had to listen to something i once called psychedelic-jazz-grunge. so thats the kind of stuff you´ve found.
long ago, but funny days. lots of improvisation and no groupies. thats the difference to rock and pop business. but we were always honest and didn´t do any prostituion. Thats my credo still today. _________________ www.himer-entertainment.de |

So finally, I uploaded the whole August2004 Work.
It´s a Nonstop-Mix of six tracks, that belong into this kind of electronic "symphony". This is my most mature work so far.
Anyone who is interessted in my music is now able to load this
track down from my site.
http://www.himer-entertainment.de/musik/Himer%20August2004.mp3
It is about 36 MB, so be patient. I promise, you wont regret. This is not just countless synthies doing noises, it´s a whole bunch of music!!
Greetings to all of you out there.
Any suggestions, complaints ... to himer-entertainment@gmx.de _________________ www.himer-entertainment.de |

I will download that one when I get back from work. What are the tracks called? Any info about the concepts at work here I should know about before listening to the material? _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

Hi
that´s a difficult question.
I always said, that my music may not fit into any drawer. Even though i have lots of influences. Maybe the most important of them are: Eno, Laurie Anderson, Sonic Youth, John Cage, Tery Riley, Vangelis, the old Tangerine Dream (i hate their recent stuff!!), FSOL, and on and on.
The Breeding Heat Track is a step into a field of more "serious" composing. even though I am not composing. I improvise mainly rhythmic-structures and sounds and build them together to tracks. Then i play the music to it, but there is no clear way of working. It is in change everyday. Here you will find six tracks (all can be found as little excerpts on my site as well) that develop together a kind of symphony. First a slow tempo/classical Introduction, followed by an uptempo piece ( a mixture of minimal music, gamelan and rockstyle-drums ), then you will be led into a tampoora-like sound with reverse piano. This is the interlude to those two uptempo tracks that will follow. An finally a quite classic electronic finale.
(the tracklist is included in the ID3tag )
The sound is a mixture of lots of sampled strings&choirs and a lot of synthies, but allways with the intention, that it wont sound too constructed. there should always exist the idea of human beings performing these tracks....
At least, thats the intention!! _________________ www.himer-entertainment.de |

I am not trying to pick a fight here, but this sounds pretty much as a valid way of composing music "seriously".
..And it is completely impossible to claim that Terry Riley is more serious than you regarding the working methods. What I have heard of your material so far is very interesting. Don´t underestimate yourself.
You should take a look in the Composition forum. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

Himer.
Very nice music. I agree with Elektro80, this is serious music - whatever that means. I like it a lot. Excellent... _________________ --Howard

well i think it depends on what kind of music you play. it´s more or less a live keyboard. there are no big modulations and synth functions, only a kind of organ-draw-bar-thing. it´s fullpolyphonic and has a very dominating sound.
no bass really. i loved to play minimalistic stuff through a tapedelay (Roland RE301-"what a wonderfull machine" i just had it borrowed from a friend!!) in our psychedelicrocktriosometimeswithorgansoundsband. never used it for my studio-music. but if you like to....
in quick words: if the price is ok (??100$maybe??) you should buy, because it has a funny spirit!! _________________ www.himer-entertainment.de |

I still have my RS09 which is basically the same thing, but with strings too. It is an aquired taste really. 100 USD? maybe.. You get more with the RS09. Go for that one. I often use the RS09 for doubling string voices and such. It has a different flavor compared to the Elka which is more harsh and brilliant sounding. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"
