First post.
I live in Savannah, love and perform music.
Unfortunately my web stuff is down, but we've got time...
Im partial to Fenders, Mesa-Boogies, Rolands and Apples and cringe when people ask me what kind of music i do.
I specifically came here cause i was looking for some information on the G2, which is being shipped to me. My plan is to run the 4 outputs of my Waldorf XT into the 4 ins of the G2 and create layered mayhem.
Well, see you in the forums. |

My fav boogies are non masters, lol
Got a 2-10 Blue Angel I adore
and I got a Subway Blues chassis rear mounted in one of their cabs with 1-12" and 4 eights...
My next favorite is my Heartbreaker 2-12, then the MKIV, then the Dual Rec Solo head... so, looks like the less preamp gain they serve up, the better i like them. I also have a subway rocket 1-10, but im not exactly stacking it against the other guys, even the Blues. Actually in the cab its sitting in the Blues sounds huge mean and vicious.
My music?
*cringe*
I guess its hard to say cause its whatever song im working on, and i certainly cant predict exactly how that's going to go. My itunes library is all over the place. i like to sing, play guitar and keys.. working on my first album, It's sort of -hard pop, somewhat toungue in cheek lyrically on some songs and other songs more of a heavy psychedellic vibe. It's pretty eclectic. Hopefully one day it'll see the light. |

You have come to the right place for information about G2s. We also have quite a few guitarists. I'm have a G2 but I don't play the guitar, just the 5 string banjo.
Anyway, just wanted to say hi and welcome aboard. _________________ --Howard

Thanks, Looks like a great forum/site.
Some synths: JP-8080,VariOS,SP-808EX,SRV-3030D,SP-505,D2,D-50,PG-1000,EF-303,DJ-70mkII, Yamaha SY-77, Waldorf XT and soon a G2 Engine.
and a VS-1680 recorder rounds out the hard stuff.
On the soft side-
1.2 Ghz G4 ibook 1.25gb ram
1ghz G4 Beige Desktop, 768mb ram- Oasys soundcard/DSP.
Athlon 2400+ 1gb ram with Emu 1212m.
got a lot of stuff running on these three computers- Main softsynths are Arturia, main sequencer and DAW are MOTU along with the midi interface. Im just getting into Numerology on the OSX machine... been a big Absynth fan for a long time too.
Wouldnt mind looking into Logic.
The only synth left on my shopping list is the V-Synth XT, when it comes out next month. |

You're equipment list keeps getting longer by the post...
I'm not a guitar player - the strings are just too darned small. I'm partial to my G&L and Gibson basses though. I mix synths with bass and trumpet - what could be more fun? My music varies widely as well (as most people's around here).
Welcome to the forum. Though I was on hiatus for awhile - I'm back checking posts regularly again. |

well its nice to have you back.
hopefully im more into the music than the gear, but you know what i mean.
Im working on a side project right now (thats why i never get anything done)
http://quartet.harmony-central.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=869668
This is exercise to compose a piece based around the picture used. I hope its not a problem to link another forum here... room for everybody and all that.
this is just the current installment of a monthly exercise based on a theme voted by the synth forum. This one is based on a picture of a star (the sun?) from close up.
I lost my dad a few weeks ago to a stroke and Im kinda expressing it through this piece about the sun...
The project is open to all and can be as ambitious or minimal as you like. Some people like critiques and others just like to share- it's all good.
I should have a song submitted for this, and ill link it here when its done. I've done other stuff for the project, but its not on their server as i had my own- perhaps I can have them post it and link a couple that i like.
Thanks everyone for the welcome-
which forums here do you hang out in and post the most?
I was a little sad to see how dead the mac forum was. |

There is potential life in the mac forum. Try posting there. There are some hardcore mac users here. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"
