Emagic Unitor/ MT4 driver for Windows
Subject description: Has anyone still got a copy I can have? |

Hi guys.
I'm trying to set one of our Nord Micromodular's up in the living room- which houses an Acer Windows 7 based PC. Problem is, I can't find a driver for my ancient Emagic MT4 midi unit on the internet. Has anyone got a copy I could have?

hej tom,
sorry, no first-hand experience with win7 but if your win 7 system is 32 bit you should be able to install/run the 32 bit driver in compatibility mode.

It's 64 bit.
Does that matter? My Mac allows both 32 and 64 to run alongside one another. Is Windows different?

you need 64bit drivers for win 7 64 bit. there might be workarounds using a virtual machine running xp or dual booting into 32 bit win 7...

Some 32bit drivers just seem to work fine, YMMV.
The transition happening in Windows 7 is probably akin to the changes after OSX 10 when the power mac was ditched. Microsoft is looking to stop mixing 32/64 bit in the long run, just like Apple tried to ditch backward support of old code. Security & efficiency are always quoted here. |

There are ways to disable the auto driver search ... google for that, but I never got through actually doing it ...
Also you can try an auto driver search; when windows finds something and it dont work you can update the driver from the control panel ... when windows doesnt find anything you can point it to the driver youy have (location of the .inf file) .. its a PITA on win7

I'm gonna stick with my old Macbook Pro (selling this mini to pay off my overdraft). It still runs XP okay.
wait.... come to think of it, the request for the driver was for the living room PC (which runs 7)
