Tau Phaser LFO Range Enhancement Mod |
 |
|
In my notes I wrote that the LFO range of the Tau Phaser can be extended by making R67 (the 1K next to the rate connector) smaller.
Did anyone try that yet?
I'm not sure if it's that useful as there is an external CV input. Would like to have an input before I stuff my Tau Phaser front panel. |

Joachim,
I did more than one change:
R67 to 470 Ohm
R66 to 100k
C54 to 680nF
This works very much better for me.
btw, the *official* CV_In makes absolutely no sens to me. If you open the connection ccw of the OSC_Level Pot by using the CV_In, the LFO signal will feed thru with full amount. I really don't know Jürgens thoughts when designing it.
Instead I skipped the CV_in (shorted) and use the V/Oct IN with an attenuator.
Cheers,
Bernd |

Thanks Bernd,
long time no see but it's good to know you're still around as you are a big inspiration and source of help.
I have a Bridechamber front panel which has is not laid out for an attenuator for CV In but with one for the 1V/Oct in.
So I guess you didn't use the suggested 1K Log pot there but a 50K or 100K attenuator?
I'm asking because I don't have a 1K Log pot at home but plenty of 50K and 100K pots (log and lin). |

You're welcome.
Yes, as there are still one and a half row left in my two cabinets, I'm still around and active. But there are so many circuits and unpopulated boards in the drawer, I have to think what to do after that.

Thats right, I used a 100k lin pot as a usual attenuator.

Got my first one working today (except for the CV out) and the LFO range and the 100K attenuator are working very well for me.
Thanks again for the mod suggestions. |
