MY FAT FACE |
|
|
I just finished some mods to my fatman and thought I would report on them. I built a module to add several new functions. The mods I did are hard sync. led soft sync mod, A/R and ADSR swap. Buffered out for them are in the works. VCF got extended range switch, max RES switch, and external CV in. VCA has an external CV input. VCOs have separate level control and separate modulation inputs. Also in the works are buffered outs for both VCOs and 2 buffered external inputs. Everything works great. the VCO mod inputs seem a bit touchy, some things are giving me cv feed through. I'm hoping that I'm about to attach a pic or 2, This forum seems to have some trouble posting things.

So that gives you an entire voice in the space of one module. Neat.
Did you drop the midi as a concession to space, or do one of those cords go to midi?
Do your CV inputs really expand the sounds you make with the Fatman? |

Still has the midi in and thru. Cables are in front to make them as short as possible. going out the back would have added a couple feet to each wire. The mods do add quite a bit to the fat man. now i can use any lfo or other modulation source i have in my rack with it. The soft sync/hard sync and lee diode soft sync mods along with the separate level controls make a big difference . everything else behaves as one would expect,i.e when you modulate the vcf it responds like any other vcf. Just to be clear the fatman is mounted directly under this new panel. This panel is mostly an interface between the fatman and the rest of my modular. My kids built the fatman a couple years ago but it really hasn't been used a lot so I am trying to make it more integrated into the rest of my stuff. |
