Apple on Monday issued an update to its recently released operating system, Mac OS X Tiger. Mac OS X 10.4.1 includes many improvements to applications, Dashboard, .Mac and syncing, iLife and other enhancements.

I tested this one the day it was released and it fixes many issues. I still have issues with Applescripting. Some scripts must be recompiled and some scripts that mount remote volumes are buggy. I will get back to this when I have a solution.

what about peripherals like audio/midi interfaces? does your Firewire 410 works OK?

Right... or no.. I have not done extensive testing with 10.4.x for DAW use. What I have done is really extensive testing for prepress production work. My advice so far.. don´t.. And if you want to test 10.4.x.. get another disk and install everything from scratch and don´t even mount that other pre 10.4 installation at all.
As such, 10.4 seems very solid. There are some weird issues.. applescript etc.. but .. don´t go for 10.4 with your DAW just yet. There are too many issues as drivers for extenal gear, plugins, installers etc. many plugin installers won´t even work on 10.4. That said, I am extremely dependent on the UAD-1 card and the UAD-1 plugs.. and there is no update yet.
