WTB: Midi router, like MOTU Micro Express or similar |
 |
|
I need some sort of MIDI merge/split/route solution, and a MOTU Micro Express would be perfect, even those old non-USB one. I have an old Windows PC for programming anyway, I can program it from there.
Other similar solutions are also welcome. It doesn't need to be super advanced, but merging and splitting is necessary.
I've old parallell port Micro Expresses for $75 on eBay, but that's in the US, and shipping would be another $75.
So I'm offering $100/€100 including shipping to Poland. |

Does the $75 include shipping? If not and you are talking about the parallel port 4-in, 6-out micro express, that is way too much. If it includes shipping, that's a different story. 10-12 years ago, the 8x8 parallel port version of the midi express (aka express XT) was going for $75-$86 (not including shipping). Approx. 3-5 years ago, the micro express was going for about $25 (not including shipping). Five years ago, a parallel port MOTU MTP AV (aka midi timepiece AV) sold for $20 plus $25 shipping from one coast of the US to the other (including the manual).
I hope this information helps.

PS: I see one for $75 OBO. Maybe that's the one you are looking for. Therre is also a motu micro lite 5x5 usb for $75.99 BIN. Compare the shipping and if they are the same (assuming both will ship to you), if it were me, I'd go for the usb 5x5 motu.
Also, there is 8x8 parallel port Midi Express XT for $29.95 BIN. From what I've seen, either of those are not seriously over priced.
Again assuming they work and shipping charges are about the same, I would go with either of those over the $75 OBO 4x6.

$75 does not include shipping. In fact, shipping is about $75 from the US to Poland, says eBay.
But hey.... I never considered that actually a 8x8 Micro Express XT could be *cheaper*... That's an option then. Weirdly enough, it claims only $40 in shipping.
And $10 in "import charges". Still, in total that's less that $100. Sold. |

Actually, I got the Parallell port 8x8 one, as it cost $80 with shipping. It arrived today, looks like shit, but works. The "Live keyboards" preset does exactly what I want, so all is fine.
Now I just need more MIDI cables. |
