Hi Joshy,

What did you used to see the code and to make these changes? Are you working directly with the .exe with something as Reshacker? Or you decompile and recompile the code with a tool ?

Joshy:

Your Virtual G2, with the unlocked modules, is a blessing. It works very well in Windows 7 on Bootcamp. The audio playback is coming through my M-Audio Firewire 410.Any improvements you decide to make would be most welcome! Especially, how to increase the Patch Load capacity. In Windows 7 / Bootcamp on my Intel i7 MacBookPro, the Patch Load maxes out when the CPU Load has only reached about 30%.

It works like a charm with Cubase and LoopBe1 in-between, but having to load everything each time I start Cubase is a pain, and time-consuming...Do you think it could be possible to embed Nord Virtual Modular in an application seen by Cubase as a VSTI? (e.g. nordmodular_loader.dll) This way, when you load your track, Nord Virtual Modular is loaded automatically, with the right patch, and with the right knob positions. That would be a great milestone! Thanks.

Has anyone got this working via Wine in OSX? Someone kindly gave me a 'Wine Bottle' version which they are running fine... but I can't get it to run, it asks me if I want to check for updates on boot.. but whatever I select it then basically just freezes and quits.

Apparently it's the demo version 1.4, the .app was created on 27th Dec 2013

I did try it, and use it already.

The MIDI Modules work, but the others don't Sad.
Would be cool to enable the Audio IN, and use the G2 as an FX Processor Smile

Anyway, there is still a lot to experiment within the "Monophonic limitations" of the G2, so that will keep me busy for a while Smile

Although I don't lose hope to someday be able to use it as an FX Processor Smile

If I remember correctly, the audio input function never worked on the demo.

That is correct.
In my previous post I was refering to the hacked version.

The only difference between the Demo and this hacked version, is that the MIDI Modules work on the hacked version.

EDIT :

I made bottled wine versions of the official Nord G2 Demo and the Nord Virtual Modular modified by Joshy that both work on OSX. You don't need to install bootcamp or any virtual OS. No need to install anything.
It contains all the Wine binaries so the app can run without prior install of Wine.

Get them here (scroll down under the G1 Editor, then Nord G2 Demo, then Nord Virtual Modular by Joshy)
http://www.stage-engine.com/micro-modular-1/

Enjoy!

Hi JP

I was hoping someone might do this one day. I contacted Clavia years ago and suggested they release a VST/AU version of the G2 given it was out of production. They where pretty snobby about it and said 'we only make hardware synthesizers' to which i replied, DSP is hardly a hardware synth, given it is all software...

I was hoping to get this working, but it pops up an error message:

"Not enough memory to perform requested action"

When selecting the MIDI/Audio options in the menu...

Any idea what is wrong?

K

Same here, i even got this message when i open the software.

I'm running an old dual core PC with 2gb of ram, out of specs maybe ?

Please, if someone can help that would be great.

Should the Audio In work on this? Or was that never actually working in the original demo version?

The bottled version works fine but the Audio In emits a high pitched signal with nothing going into my soundcard, just wondered that was to be expected?

Hi -- As far as I can recall, Audio In was never enabled in the G2 Demo.

When I open some patches and they can't be played ("voice mode" panel is lighted in red color), is it possible to edit it or demo restictions prevent that?

Like, I see that e.g. seq_funk_695 (sorry, I forgot who is author, but it's from this site) shows patch load as 91%/51%, so I assume that problem is with Slots. But how do I get rid of additional slot content of patch in G2 Demo? I only see "slot A" button, does it mean that patch has something in slots B,C,D but you can not disable/erase them from patch because of its how Demo works?

Sorry if silly question, just something that was on my mind recently.

Hi.
Why is it so quiet here?
Is there anything else going on in the development of this application?

Does anyone know if it's possible to configure midi when I run it in Wine on OSX?

Joshy wrote:
Hi everyone,

I had originally posted this over at GearSlutz, but they said it would be better released over here. Anyway, I really like the G2 modular software it has been really fun to make patches in the demo. Being in the demo though was so limiting so I decided to try and make the software a little more usable.

So, I'm letting people try my patched version of the G2 demo software that I refer to as the Nord Virtual Modular V0.01.

The features included so far are the removal of all "demo" interfacing, all modules are available, and some interface improvements. I'm planning on maxing out the voice count but have not yet worked out the function responsible for it. Hopefully I'll nail those voices down!

In the short time people have tested this from GS, I have been told some of the unlocked modules may not be working. No testing has been done on my part for the functionality of the unlocked modules, but it's possible there isn't any code behind a few of these anyway. I know the "4 Outs" module works though because that's the one I tested on. Razz

My intention here is not to spark any tension with Clavia or to break any rules. If I'm out of line with the posting rules then any moderator can feel free to modify this as needed. I'm providing this for educational purposes and the hope that Clavia would actually release a fully functioning modular software (the latter I doubt though).

Have fun! See the ReadMe for more infos.

I tried it on 10.13.6 with sip disabled but it doesn't work... I haven't gone crazy trying to get it to work like I usually do, but my G2 is alive and kicking.
