Replacement Potentiometer Advice |
|
|
Man - I keep coming back to the NM1 - tried to sell it a few times but always glad when I don't. Anyway, I have a couple pots which are playing up. I took one apart and saw it was a mechanical issue and not just in need of a clean. Does anyone know of any replacement pots? I would love to keep the original knobs but don't mind having something different under the cover. Do the other Nord keyboards use the same pot? |

The G1 uses the same pots as the earlier Nords (1+2). I read ages ago that there's some similar regular pot that can be filed down but the shaft diameter is tricky to find.

@Vader77, Thanks for the info. I know about Syntaur, but at $20 a pop, I will probably hold out until I can find a broken NM to part out. In the meantime, I ordered a couple of different 4mm shaft pots from China to see if I can adapt one to the NM. |

This might be the opportunity to do the Joystick modification to the NM1. Replace 2 pots with a joystick. _________________ James Husted, Designer

That's an interesting thought. A little bit of pot shuffling...
I don't know, I have not come up with an elegant solution and am going back and forth between parting the whole thing out - expansion and all - or continuing to try to fix it. I haven't used it in over a year. |

If you are thinking of selling it for parts, I'm sure you can get a good price for it even with a wonky pot. I would buy it in a second if the price was right. I would hand wire a pot in to make it work if I couldn't find the exact replacement. Ot do the joystick mod. There is room for the stick. _________________ James Husted, Designer
