Hello everyone.

I want to build a MIDI to PAiA "protocol" device, to keep my PAiA as original as possible.

PAiA developed their own computer control methods and software around 1977. It was the 8700 computer controller, and a series of modules, of which, the QuaSH is, for me, the most useful and interesting: it is an 8 bit quad multiplexed DAC, and the whole system is expandable up to 16 channels.

The idea is to implement as many features from their sofware inside the interface: arpeggiator, sequencer, etc. (they are best described in their catalogs).

I have an arduino and a general understanding of both the paia and the arduino... but that´s it. I need someone to guide me thru the whole thing, whichwill be posted here when complete.

Anyone with both paia and an arduino interested?

---I posted the same message on the Arduino sub-forum---

You could also post over at the PAIA talk forum:

http://www.paia.com/paiatalk/

Do I understand this correctly - you want to take the assembly language control programs written by PAIA for their 8700 computer, and convert it for the Arduino, perhaps triggered by midi?

Do you own a QuASH?

Hi.

Yes, I will post it there today, good idea. It`s just that I thought here I could get more attention.

Yes, you understand correctly, except I also want to use the arduino as a MIDI to PAiA interface.

I do not own a QuASH... yet. I`m on it.

I found a 6502 (the 8700 was a 6503 based machine, a cut down 6502) emulator for Arduino:
