Hey Jerome! Welcome!
I just checked out your music - WHAT A WEBSITE! How did you make it!?!?
I love how your music corresponds to a story, as if while listening, I feel like I'm experiencing a journey. And I also love the poetic verses that correspond to each soundtrack! Did you write those?
I really appreciate this innovative, experimental type of music. Hearing enough same old 4/4 kick/snare/kick/snare Dance tracks, its great to hear something different and creative!
Even though I also like producing those thumping dance tracks, I like to create a softer, ambient, downtempo track every now and again. I've already shared my track elsewhere in the forums, but I though it'll be good to share it with you, since it relates to your productions.

Sorry for the late reply. I have used WebplusX8 for the website but the program is being discontinued so I will have to move the site to a different platform. Not sure what you mean about the poetic verses??? they are the titles of the individual tracks relating to those projects. I use Sonar for all midi stuff and Samplitude for all audio stuff. I play a number of different instruments but tend to stick to guitar and synths these days. I use session musicians from time to time to help out with various bits and pieces but most of this is created in my home studio. The 'Scenes' project (project 3) cost about 80,000 Euro to put together - that's all studio work, software, session musicians and instruments and recording equipment. The other projects cost significantly less since I have now got all the gear I need. I used to play drums many moons ago when I was a young pup but then moved to guitar. I have also had a stab at flute, piano, bass, mandolin & banjo. These days I spend most of my time with synths (hard and soft) and guitars and guitar synthesizers. I'm glad you like the fact that the music is not your typical 4/4 stuff. I am trying to do something different from the mainstream.
There are a number of projects on the go; 'Scenes' (project 3) is actually complete except for the mixing and mastering. This was really my first attempt at an album. 'Lands' (project 1) is really a compilation of projects 3,4 &5. I just wanted to put something out there to see if anyone would like it or not. I have sold quite a few copies of that album already but of course with the digital world we live in it has been pirated and copies are floating around all over the place and for some reason it seems to sell quite well in Russia??? The 'Movements' project (project 2) is an attempt to create something similar to Jean Michel Jarre's/Tangerine Dream's work in the seventies.
Then there is 'Mantras' and 'Tides' which are both progressing well. I am also fiddling around with an ambient electronic suite but I still have a long way to go with that one. Finally, I am also recording an album of folk songs I wrote many years ago but finding the right vocalists is a major stumbling block. |
