I got one of these newer Casios for cheap at a thrift shop and I notice it doesn't use any of the power supplies that usually work on casio keyboards. It calls for a 9.5 volt, and I notice that the older power supplies barely fit in. Did casio start using a different style of power supply? It also turns off after about two minutes on what I am thinking are full batterings, using a meter to check them.
Any thoughts on that kind of quick shut off problem?

https://www.manualslib.com/manual/867796/Casio-Ctk-2300.html?page=3#manual That says 9V AD-5 wall-wart. Dunno if that helps or not, but yeah--the user manual says 6AA batteries but 9.5 V adapter. Does the shut off happen when you are playing, or just when idle? Are you using fresh, non-rechargeable batteries?

Thanks for the response.

Partially using some non-rechargeables that were gently recharged monitoring with a meter and some new ones. I just got the keyboard.

It turns off when I'm playing it.

I guess the AD-5 may be a different type, I noticed another recent Casio didn't seem to work with normal wall-warts.

I did try it with new batteries and it's stayed on about ten minutes with playing. I'll have to just try the newer style adapter because the older ones don't work for it.
