Hi. I've had my Andromeda for four or five years and it's always worked perfectly. All of the sudden, it hangs on the initial screen when I turn it on. Would appreciate any suggestions anyone might have.

Thanks.

I don't have any advice but I posted this to the Andromeda Facebook group. It's a bit more active than this forum so hopefully that nets you a response or two.

I also PMed you, but here's one idea from Facebook:

"Boot up holding soft key 4 or 1. Mine hangs on boot but never had a problem loading with soft keys"

Alas, I've tried booting the A6 while holding each of the soft buttons to no avail. Just stays on the start screen.

If you are trying to avoid taking it to a tech you might try opening her up and reseating every ribbon cable connection you can see, and if you can solder replace the battery while you're in there. This link show which screws to take out:

(Huh, a useful Harmony Central thread....)

Good luck!

unfortunately it is highly likely your main flash is corrupt. If it's not that, it is the CPU. The only way is to reflash a new one and solder it in...

I had to do this myself but the A6 works perfectly now.

There is a big long discussion on the gearslutz forum about this exact problem.

After trying everybody's suggestions that were within my powers to no avail, I took my Andromeda to the synth doctor.
