Subject description: The WSG Circuit KiCad Schematic File - Pots & Switches Removed/Pads Retained
Reply with quote  Mark this post and the followings unread

I am contributing my WSG Circuit KiCad Schematic file, for those that want to make the PCB, or modify the circuit. If you are using KiCad, it should save you some work. If you are using Eagle, you may be able to convert it; I dunno...

Things to Know
Mr. Wilson's original drawings included both the needed pots and switches and the pads to wire these same items off of the board. I intend to wire my pots and switches on the case. I removed them from the schematic, because having both the pots and switches and their pads created some conflicts within KiCad, i.e., KiCad expects to see all of those items on the board and, if they are not there, KiCad complains.

If you want to mount the pots and switches on the board, you can make the needed changes to the schematic. Should you wish to do so, this will give you a good head start.

I was a proficient Eagle user, but I am new(er) to KiCad. I proofed my own final work (always a bad idea.) That means there are opportunities for issues. Check everything. If you find errors, please let me know.

I was not overly concerned with annotations, layout, etc. Modify things to your liking.

Both voices are included on the one page.

I did not include my PCB file, because I am doing this project with SMD components. If you want that file, send me a private message.

I did not include the project file, either. Again, I am new to KiCad, so if the project file is critical, let me know.

I did not use any custom components, so there are no custom libraries.

My thanks to Ray Wilson for the fun legacy that he has left to us.

Enjoy!

Here is my SMD Board Layout, which was the point of creating the schematic in KiCad. I'm rather proud of it. There's a lot of stuff packed in ~1.3"x3.3". I have ordered the boards; we'll see what we get...

I am also including a pdf of the schematic, for any interested non-KiCad users.

Nice job on the WSG PCB. Interested to know how this turned out? Do you have any finished boards ?

I have been using using Proteus ISIS/ARES for all my designs and simulation but the KiCad package looks real nice Very Happy
