So a few days ago I get this wild urge to revisit the topic of 3D printing forms. A bunch of CAD time and one 3D printed object later and we have the beginnings of such a thing.

See the attached image for a close-up view of the first prototype. Remember that it's rough and created not as a final object but as an initial attempt in an iterative project.

I tried citing some parts into the form and it went acceptably well for the first try of a newish thing. Currently the 3D printer is making the second design which has changed quite a bit.

The first one is red and the second one blue. Later I'll try white. Being in a country where the traditional flag colors are red, white, and blue (USA), I had purchased these colors of filaments for the recent independence day holiday. I'm planning to get some new colors for the Christmas holiday which is right around the corner (it is early September now).

The circuit is a transistor-based ring oscillator. The idea is to make a device that oscillates in the audio frequency band and is affected by human finger touches / handling. This way I can perform with it and other circuits of similar design.

There is much more to discuss so I plan to continue this thread later.

Les
