NYE 2018/2019 live streaming event

Even without nuts november is flying by and so is the rest of this year.
Time to start warming up those synths and whatnots and get ready for another live streaming event.

This event will be on electro-music radio on Monday December 31st 2018.
It will probably start at 15:00 GMT and end somewhere next year but we can extend the timing if there are enough people signing up.

Stream ops please respond if you're able to help switch and what time range you are available.

First Time Streamers Please Read:

Please review the Electro Music Copyright Policy

Please note: "Preferred Start Time". We will do the best that we can to accommodate people to their requested times. However, please be flexible because this event will have European and American musicians in many different time zones. Time slots will be on a semi-"first come-first served" basis. Furthermore, please post your time in GMT. The handy clock should make it simple. However, we do use military/24 hour time. It will undoubtedly be an international event and GMT is the only way to coordinate such events.

As in the past, the chat room will serve as an invaluable communication tool for set up, streaming, and connecting to those listening....and it's just a lot of silly fun! I suggest participants get familiar with it in advance, if you aren't already.

If you want a recording of your set, it would be prudent to record your own set, rather than depend on others. Accidents and mistakes happen...especially in this format. There are many ways to record your set, either thru the stream app or record your stream from your mixer on the signal path to the computer.

Performers MUST stream at 128 kbps, 44.1 kHz , stereo.

It is IMPERATIVE that everyone test their connections before we start streaming. At least 24 hours before but sooner is preferred. Sorry, but we can not guarantee that musicians will be allowed to stream if you do not test 24 hours before hand. Not only does it delay the schedule, but causes unneeded stress on performer, server operator, and audience during performance time. Join the chat room for testing and help setting up.

I've fixed the clock ... it uses another URL now ... also I can do stream-opping and will do a slot .. but will sign up properly for that ... after dinner or so.

We'll probably have New Year's Eve visitors for the 2nd time in our 43 years of marriage, now that my wife's sister & her husband live an hour away. Old folks evening, I don't remember who even stayed awake until midnight last year. My plan is to work up & prerecord a piece before the evening so I don't have to miss the event -- last year I was a week late because of visitors -- and then stream it, and be on the chat as visitors allow. I will play the radio into our party room. party time!

Notes for PHOBoS

Airlock tested ok, even if he didn' t sign up yet :-)

Pliorius seems to have some level issues still but stream connection testing was ok .. and later discovered that some of his issues were actually due to a bad connector on my side .. not the distortion probably .. but my left channel was bad .. not his ... later more I guess.

Hi, all!

I have over an hour worth of material, so unless this messes up a plan not yet scheduled, I could take the open 60 minutes currently posted after Jan and before AlanP, [16:00-17:00) my time, which I think is [21:00-22:00) GMT. Also, a different 60 minute slot is OK.

Our guests are coming in a few minutes instead of New Year's Eve, so I don't know whether I'll get to do the port check I had planned for today. It entails some re-cabling & re-mixing for streaming. If not, I will try during the week.

If this requested change presents a problem, just leave me where I am. Thanks, in any case!
