Are you looking for people to do workshops, sets, or just come & attend?
I'm doing the Cosmic Streamfest on the 13th...might be Ok with coming out for a day later in June. I couldn't give a workshop though, unless people wanted to learn Visuals/Resolume 101.

Laura, see previous reply to Ken. In addition to performing, do you want to do some visual accompaniment for sets?

I thought we weren't having "sets" as such? But sure, I'd love to do visuals. My visuals are the same old stuff you have always seen me do...just loads of jpgs & avi's run thru Resolume.

I am waiting for the university to issue anything useful about plans for the semester re covid-19. We are on spring break and they cancelled classes next week. They told my dept that we are not allowed to teach on-line next week, which I was planning to do. Many area universities including some in our system are 100% on-line for the remainder of the semester. My wife and I are older than 65 and she has some chronic respiratory problems, so I plan to teach from home remainder of semester.

I had emailed about getting dorm rooms a week or two ago, no response so far. The fate of this event is in question.

Was Asheville in May cancelled?

Tony and Mike announced yesterday that Mountain Skies is postponed. ("We will reschedule and update everyone when we have a better picture.")

As expected, this event is cancelled. Communications on campus are a little chaotic just now, everything moving to on-line instruction, and no responses from "summer conferences", of which this would be one. Even if we are in the diminishing tail of the covid-19 curve, we need to avoid extending that tail. I hope to do this in June 2021.

Yes, canceling makes sense. I was looking forward to a banjo jam with you, but it will have to wait.

Howard, the university cancelled every on-site event for this summer, just after I posted this. We oldsters got to watch out! I am hoping to have something ready for Summer Solstice, will have some time after May. Email volume from students & faculty has quadrupled over this, since there is no way to stop by and ask a quick question. Happily, our department's seniors and grad students have had the option of attending classes via Zoom & its predecessors for years. I initiated Real Time Virtual Classroom (RTVC) about 6 or 7 years ago, based on the real-time interaction dynamics of the electro-music streaming events, and it has gone well for years. So for the comp. sci. faculty, the transition has been as painless as possible.

Correct that to June 2022, after a semester-long sabbatical. I sooooooooooooo want to have this event before I retire.
