Electrical Schematic Beginners Question

I am still a beginner when it comes to circuits and I am hoping to learn something here.

I have been looking at drum circuits lately (planning for my next project) and I have noticed that some schematics show circuitry that is "detached" from the circuit path.

As a beginner I am having a hard time interpreting this, for example does this mean that the components aren't on the pcb?

What you referring to is a power supply where the V+ are connected to all the power pins designated by V+ and the same goes for V-
This is done to make the schematics better readable.
But it still means that these components, though not fysically connected on the drawing by a wire, they still will usually be placed on the same board.
The same goes for the pins on the PIC, designated BD, LT, HT etc. They are connected to the other drawing with the same names.
