This old rotary selection switch was in a box of electronic parts my dad had. The eleven dial plate is screaming to be used on a master volume pot. The rotary switches are what I’m looking for ideas for.

It looks like a typical piece of hardware from the cockpit of an aircraft from the sixties and seventies. I used to set the tower frequency for the aircrew before they showed up back in the day.

I’m thinking of just building a panel with ten inputs and one output for each dial, instead of dedicating it to a specific task. It will be several months at least before I use it, so I’d like to hear your ideas. Thanks!

I have used two similar switches in my sequencer to set the number of pulses or length for each step.

Transponderfish, my jaw dropped when I came across that plate.

Grumble, thats kinda along the lines of what my original ideas for those switches were. I'm leaning at the moment to something that I can feed whatever I want into it. 44 jacks will take up a fair amount of space, but the more I think about it, the more possibilities I see. Cool videos and sounds by the way!

Perhaps I should cut a panel big enough to hold all 40 inputs and 4 outs, but only drill enough to use one of the rotaries just to see how well it works in reality. The metal I get for free at the scrap yard. I need to order more jacks anyway.

Still looking for more ideas
