Before I fry it - Casio MT-205 bends?

So I've seen this one bent and thought it would be a good first bend. Anyone have any links to photos/connections/etc?

I got my feet wet by building 2 simple IC electronic keyboards (555 & another pre-built board synth) and just finished successfully modifying a MIDI controller. Got soldering down, basic knowledge, but I could really use a cheat sheet or map for the MT-205 if it exists.

I seem to remember running across a site that had a lot on Circuit Bent Casios. I took a quick look (online and in my bookmarks) but couldn't find the link.

I actually have a Realistic Concertmate-700 (unbent, in fact never opened up).

If I find the link, I will add it here.

they come from the Ok Housecat site: http://www.okhousecat.com/casiomt205

note that circuit bending is not without risk so only do it on something that isn't important to you unless you have a really good well tested guide.

YUP!!! That's it!!! Smile He doesn't have the MT-205 or the Concertmate-700, though. Sad

Just found the MT-205 User Manual here https://soundprogramming.net/keyboards/realistic/realistic-concertmate-700/. Not sure if I knew that it (or the Realistic version) had drum pad trigger jacks. If there are other Casio models with schematics that have the drum pad triggers, maybe it would be useful to help sort out the MT-205 Circuit. (Just a thought.)

I don't know anything about this company, but evidently they are selling the Concertmate-700 service manual for $15 (USD): http://www.vintagemanuals.com/manual/Radio+Shack/42-4007%2C+Concertmate+700

BUT WAIT: Another site says that the MT-205 is the Casiomate-680: https://www.circuitbenders.co.uk/forum/forums.html?topic=1393.0 Never mind An online picture of the Concertmate-680, doesn't look at all like the MT-205 in the user guide. So much for circuitbenters.co.uk. Sad

Just wondering how much overlap there is with different models. For example, see the last paragraph here: http://weltenschule.de/TableHooters/Casio_MT-520.html. "A smaller Casio MT-520 variant with only 4 drumpads was released as Casio MT-220 and without drumpads as Casio MT-205 (both without rhythm tracks mute)."

Since the MT-205 has jacks for external drum pads or sticks (4 pads/sticks with two triggers per jack) perhaps there is some similarity with the MT-250 which has the pads built in.

Wow! yeah, ok housecat's images do help a bit. His notes are a bit difficult to read but it's a really solid starting point, so thank you!

I also have a Suzuki Unisynth XG-1 FM guitar, but I'm probably going to sell it to someone with more capable hands and get another instrument.

It seems like there was a wealth of info on sites back in 05-08 that eventually went down, benders went into different careers etc. I often find links to sites like angelfire.

I'm going to have to take notes as I go along to replenish that sweet knowledge. Thanks again everyone!
