Instant VJ Subject description: Analog mobile VJ device. |
 |
|
Hello, I'm new on this forum. From 1960 on I am working with electronics. My speciality is analog visual hardware. Now, just before my retirement, I am back to basics, after the digital revolution. A month ago I started a project, making a small VJ device for your mobilephone. In short; this tool is feeded with audio/visual material from the AV output of my SGS phone. Any device with an AV pal/ntsc output will do. The sound is going to modulate (influence) the video and comes from a external line input or the build-in microphone. The video is going to pass some analog effects (wipe, posterisation, solarisation, inversion, etc) and leaves the device as a composite signal. The VJ device has the same size as an Iphone, incl. the battery. So, you can click this device on the back of your mobilephone. I talk about realtime videoprocessing. There are several manual controls to influence the outcome. This is an open hardware project and when there are some results I will show this on You Tube. Be patient, working with video circuits is of an other order as sound.
The name of the project is Instant VJ. Summary:
Design and construction of a small VJ device with RT analog videoeffects. This effects are under control of sound and manual sliders. The content comes from the mobilephone videoplayer (playlist) or any external pal/ntsc source. In the first half of 2011, I will publish the schematic diagram and board layout. Parts will be easy to get and all will do not more than 100 dollar. |

Perhaps you'll find Scanimate of interest. This machine did many of the animation you saw on TV and in the movies in the '70s and '80s.

IIRC, this machine is near Hendersonville, NC. _________________ Bill Fox------------------|\-------------
