Frank Duval - Smile In The Shade
(Instrumental)
New track 2022
The music of Frank Duval has guided me along the road of life since 1989, when I first heard it — yes — quite late, but in the shortest possible time I collected all the albums on CD. "If I could fly away" remains my favorite to this day — perhaps because I myself would like to fly away (which is still relevant today, but for someone it has become relevant right now).
But it was from 1989 that the albums of my favorite composer began to come out less and less. Moods changed to meditative-lingering-depressive. This music could still somehow fill the soul, but after the Solitude album (starting with Vision — so be it) it could no longer lead.
We often choose our guides, and then get very upset when they go off the path or stop — they can no longer lead. But they are also people. But we do not want to accept this, just as we do not want to accept that from a certain moment one of us — those who followed the guide — should become a guide himself — for those who can still go, but do not know the way.
At least I tried. I don't know what came out of it, because it can only be appreciated after the passage of time. But I wrote a lot of melodies, and got a lot of feedback from people who followed them.
It would seem, is it worth turning around and waiting for something from those who once held the flag of a detachment directed to the future? Because they did their mission...
It turns out that it is not yet the time to take stock — it is still too early to write off the conductors of the dusty roads left behind.
The new melody from Frank Duval is the best confirmation of this. It's beautiful, and it reminds exactly what it was in the era of "If I could fly away" — especially the bass part — it's worth the wait, and the moment the bass enters, exactly those bright energies and feelings that was sounding in past decades. And it's with us again.
Thank you Maestro!
