Yusynth VCO troubleshoot |
 |
|
Hi there guys,
I've adopted this amazing circuit to 4U, built it, yet, I have troubles...
It does not seems to work.
I've found a minor error on the board, it is fixed now - yet, it still does not work properly and I'm 100% sure I just made some minor mistake somewhere.
ICs getting the proper voltage, all component orientation and value is correct.
Note - this is a custom board, not the original one - hence, t might be some drawing errors :S
What I have at the Saw output, is actually a sine-like waveform, but it oscillates at 8kHz.
Trimmers or freq/fine pots des not have any effect.
Any tips? |

Investigated further, I've found a minor "overlapping" error on the PCB...
trace cut, jumper wire, now all good.
Yet, the VCO still does not work.
It oscillates around 840 kHz, and I have a new "symptom", the LM311 gets pretty hot :S |

Ok, this is a "tuff" one - still no luck.
I've made some measurements without the LM311, everything on the IC pins looks OK. |

| Weird, but for some yet unknown reason, I have 9,3 Volts at Pin7 on the LM311 - for sure, that is not really good! |

| Update, I've removed all the ICs and the J112, yet, the 9.5 volts is still there at pin7 of the LM311 and I don't know where it comes from... |

anyone, from the future, who reads this:
NEVER EVEr BELIEVE YOUR STORES SUPPLIED DATASHEET!!!
...
the issue was the store, where I bought the J112 had a datasheet with DGS pinout, but, the actual part I've got has a DSG pinout. |
