I had the pleasure of contributing to this compilation, which only used sounds
recorded in a former gas holder in Augsburg, Germany:
"(...) In 2024, one of Augsburg's most impressive industrial monuments will be 70 years old. Since 1954, the large disk-type gas holder of the gasworks in the Oberhausen district has dominated the Augsburg skyline. Even today, when the gasworks has been transformed into a cultural quarter, it is probably the most fascinating building on the site - thanks to its dimensions and unique acoustics. To mark its anniversary, we would like to bring its very special atmosphere to life. The medium for this is sound - understood as sound as well as music. There are three reasons for this: Like the gas that once filled the enormous tank, sound spreads in all directions. Through the echo they produce, the vibrations make the unique spatial quality inside the disk gas tank audible. (...)
