IP Banned

Once again, my account has been banned from the forum.
I believe my IP address has also been banned, since I cannot access the forum on any of my devices through the Chrome browser. I am now accessing it through Opera in my PC with VPN activated.
Please, can you restore it again?

The fix is that I unban it - I’d need to know the IP address - and I’d need be at home .. in a couple of days …

are you sure? I can not find any ban on 10.x.y.z .. maybe a proxy or using vpn?

He says he's using his cell phone for internet access, and the PC goes thru that. I can send you the IP address for his phone thru messaging instead of forum if you want.

Yes. Via native vpn from Opera browser.

Thanks for letting us know about the vpn. They have their uses, but they make it hard for forums and similar platforms. There are times when all we can do is ban ips. Sometimes we have to ban entire countries. Maybe someone has a better idea how we can manage this.

Yes, I agree.
I use Opera and a VPN only for emergencies or when Chrome becomes bugged. Forums like Freestompboxes, among others, use Cloudfare.
Every time a user logs in, they must confirm they're not a robot.
But perhaps this is better and more practical than having to unban disabled users.
I'm not an expert on the subject, so I don't know if Cloudfare could help in this regard.

as a side note .. i have banned myself a couple of times

and yes, sometimes i’m using a proxy - despite being annoying at times, as in being banned at places .. like wikipedia, for instance.

Un-Banned now , just 3 days , i was going to log in on xmas day to wish festive greetings but critical error came up when i clicked on EM site , if you saw 75 login attempts yesterday from Scotland that was me

To be able to fix .. i'd need know the IP address that failed .. you can see it by using :

https://whatismyipaddress.com/

And use that one when it fails .. not when rthings work ok.

When you relay your computer trough yoyr phone please use that URL on you phone (or else the IP address of your phone will be shown, which will not be the issue).

Anyway, without an IP address I can do nothing.

I got a banned message on Sunday when trying to login to the forum on my phone from my Dad's, I was a bit worried but everything worked OK when I got home
