The Recorder |

Well, I understand the development of Wren is quite finished and there may not be any more versions...
I'll nevertheless enter this request:
I know there is a recorder module in the roster, but I feel there should be a resident recorder in the top pane.
Just like the recorder is a permanent resident in VST Host' main window. Much more convenient, available at all times... I do use that feature a lot.
thanks. _________________ DJ Abstrait, musique concrète |

Ah ok, I will probably not make it ... but still the question is ...
what should it record?
- there are 8 output chanels .. there can be multiple output modules ... so, when the recorder is a module it can be connected as necessary ...
like .. you can have a metronome in the patch that you do not record ...
A fixed recorder would loose some flexibility, I think?
as an alternative .. it is not quite the same .. but would save you a little work at patch start .. it is possible to have a 'standard patch' which will be auto-loaded when a new patch is created .. this one could have the modules that you will always use .. like output modules, mixers, recorder .. whatever. _________________ Jan
also .. could someone please turn down the thermostat a bit.

I would personally say: as simple as possible. Just record the same stream that goes to the soundcard, plain stereo. Sure it could be multitrack, etc, etc, but those are as many reasons for not making it...
Look at the recorder in VST Host; this thing is part of my workflow now. For sure other people will have other needs, but for me that works fine. And sorry, the recorder module is NOT a convenient solution.
