It's been more than 20 years ago now that I've been living in Berlin. And while I seldom look or go back physically, maybe for a short visit now and then, I often do so in my mind. Especially, when listening to music from the Golden Age of EM, where many of the artists being in synthesized sounds "went" to its School. There are still several artists from the old guard out there, some still producing new music. But many of the space ambient style music nowadays comes from a younger folks. And their take on Berlin style sounds, while surely referencing the ideas of the past, are fresh and current and also timeless. Join me for a mental visit to Berlin with great music by NGC 224 (Mystic Forests), Novaexperiment (Quantum Pulse), Craig Padilla & Marvin Allen (Unfolding Skies), Joerg Dankert (Back to Berlin), Paul Ellis (Room Of The Lost One), IcingWolf (Crossroads), Ivan Black (Black 3), Small Chief (Zero Movement).

So, it's been two weeks since the Schallwelle awards have been handed to the respective winners. Tonight you will get music by (nearly) all of those proud winners in the first part of the show. Hip, hip, hooray. And in the second half of this edition you will get brand new music by more great artists, who might turn out to be the winners of awards to come. One never knows. At least, they serve excellent fresh music which fits into the early days of March, where birds are out, blossoms in sight, and trees starting to bloom. Quite a diverse bunch of styles to be heard tonight with music by Stefan Erbe (the enemy inside), Tectonia (Luna (The Moon)), Peter Mergener (Chip Meditation 2025), Árstraumur (Aurora), Martin Stürtzer (Closer to Home), Ralph Kwappenberg (Dutch Electronic Masters VII), DEE-KEY (Wild Flowers), Joao Ceser (BRIANZA), Planet Boelex (Twenty), Yakuza Jacuzzi (Wabi-Sabi)

Not sure, if I am influenced by the current situatino in the world, but tonight you will get some harder beat than usual. As a musician, you know about beat machines, and the tracks of this edition make surely use plenty of those. In theory, it is a simple thing. You got rows for each instrument, be it base or snare or high hat, and fill the grid's columns where they should hit. It does sound easy, ain't it? But setting up the right beat to take the listener on a journey is quite another thing. And all the artists on tonight's editino do a great job on that. Join in to some delights in EDM by Silvio Sidelnick (Game of Faith), Pembroke (Mezcalita), NGC 224 (Starlit), Trial Presence (Z), Marc Henry (Elektr'O'Cean), 2 Guys on the Rock vs Mashtronic (EsKomo), Sascha Müller (Tabla on Tabla), Wahn (Echo Mist Light), Fruit Mûr (Keep On / Keep Off).

This is an excerptional show you will find tonight, as it is edition 80-0 of syndae, which will feature a look back at the beginnings of electronic music as we share our love in. Right, back in those golden ages for EM some ingenious people started experimenting with electronic equipment and the like to invent a new style in sound and music, and lay the foundation for many more and, admittedly, more popular styles we (in parts have to) listen to these modern days. There might be an alternative universe out there not having these geniuses at work, well, they would miss out on great stuff. Join me for a tiny celebration and time travel with the music by Klaus Schulze (Timewind), Jean-Michel Jarre (Les Chants Magnétiques), Kraftwerk (Minimum - Maximum), Tangerine Dream (Ricochet (Live)), Manuel Göttsching (E2-E4).

What a tiring week this was. I had to travel to doctor appointments a number of times, which, especially with buses, seem to take ages. Not to mention the long waiting times at the doctor's. Well, at least I am lucky to have some healthcare at my living space, while some places do not or gete stripped of the ability to afford it. Some small issues with my vision and my voice, which you might probably hear in this edition, added to it. And what better to enjoy, when being worn off from a busy week, than groovy and chilly music. Hence, tonight you will get a one hour dosis of great beats and sounds by Dee-Key (Wild Flowers), Enigmatic Obsession (The Byzantine Empire), Supercozi (Dome Edits), Tectonia (Luna (The Moon)), Thomas Lemmer & Thomas Foster (Deep inside the Blue), OHM-G (Beautiful You), Faestos (Heavy Dub Vol. 11), Alan Elettronico (Odyssey), Vixyr's Paradox (TABLA ON TABLA), C37 (The reality is...), Joao Ceser (Brianza), Johannson (De Mi Corazon).

So humans are back to the moon, or at least "going around" the moon. Is this the start of space businesses? Will we soon see adventures to colonize the moon or finally go for Mars (to save Mark Watney, of course)? Who knows? But the vast and mostly empty universe always is a fascinating place to dream about. So much so, that I will start a new chapter for syndae having some really ambient ambient on the show. Not quite drone like, but close. There are some cool artists out there providing music to discover sounds so dense and wide in conjunction, which makes you feel wonders. Join for entring space with music by Cosmic Cadence (Color Pools 1), Progeny -1 (Color Pools 2), Interstellar Data Unit (Wayfarer Records Sample Volume 2), Loneward (Paradox of Silken Stars), Steve Roach & Serena Gabriel (Entering Elysium), CIRC (fading), Jake Soffer & Brent Carmer View (Imaginary Rooms), NGC 224 (Into The Void).

When I was young, it was quite difficult to get hold of instrumental music by itself, well, maybe except for classical music. The electronic music albums were sparsely sold and, of course, I did not have the money back then. What was great, though, that most of the singles one could purchase in those days contained the instrumental version of the song on its B-sides. Escpeially great with maxi singles, which were the 45 rpm long-player-sized singles with extras. Weird days, looking back from the current view on always available streamable music. Well, I stuck with the instrumental music, and tonight there are great new ones by TOKEE (Путешествие Remixes), weldroid (The Peripheral (2026)), Man as island vs Morakh & Man as island vs Ambidextrous (AN), Roberto Sass (The Road 2 Nowhere), Factsimile (Signal 25), Polished Chrome (Music for Headphones), Projekt Ich ft. Stian Shiver vs Tonschleifer (In The Fire: Instrumental Remix Edition), Krzysztof Kurkowski (Motus Pulsans), Side Liner (Cosmicleaf Mixtape 007 (Psychill)), Z.A.G.Z. (Z.A.G.Z.), NDORFIK (Binary Echo)

Now, what is it that made me feel a little bit easier this week? Maybe it's the Spring-view with all its green and yellow colours. And it is slightly getting warmer and sunnier over here. I am feeling quite positive these days, except for that screaming pink car outside, which blinds my eyes. Being in such a mood, of course the selection of music for tonight's edition follows the lighter weight of life. Join me for some easy and beautiful songs by Mativetsky, Amiri & Pagé (Metamorphose), Andrew Schoen & Joe Nutter (Live & Otherwise), Bernd Scholl (Seasons Will Change), Dino Pacifici (Future Noir), Ambient Ballroom (Between the Cakes), Cass Anawaty (Continuance), Projekt Ich vs Talking to Ghosts (In the Fire), Øystein Q. Jørgensen (The March equinox 2026), Vin Downes & Tom Eaton (Until the Light Was Gone), Steve Orchard (A Sudden Rush of Calm), Glint (Hope), yttriphie (Solipsis).

So, we've been to a nice littel ice cream parlour today and enjoyed the food, sitting in and relishing the summerly weather. Besides ice cream, they also serve several variations on filled doughnuts. The ones with the hole in the middle (just to not confuse them with "Berliner" pancakes, which are also filled, but have no hole). The really looked like tiny cakes rather than doughnuts. And, of course, we could not resist to fetch some with cream and fruits and chocolate bits. And if you like sweet and lovely sounding bits, join in for some spacy Berlin School tunes by Oscar Postma (Dutch Electronic Masters VII), Conny Olivetti (Grenzwellen Für Immer), TaboTago (The Neukölln Concert), Mario Schönwälder (Solotrip), Flavour Sperimentale (Voyager 13), Ogle & Mugwood (Eskypism), Dream Sequence (The Euclidean Sea)
