Hello again, I have recently undertaken some serious performance patching and had terrible problem getting an extremely fast gate signal from one 'work area' to another (either FX or another slot). I found two options: One was to use the MIDI send/recieve modules, but they couldn't cope with either the speed or the polyphony...it may have just been the polyphony missing, but only a tiny pulse got through and had to enlarged with a Pulse module. The other option was to use a Bus, but then the whole logic cable setup became rated for audio, killing off the cycles, and it also seemed to leak into the audio chain and still wasn't properly polyphonic!

So, what is the best way to get a poly gate signal from one workspace to another? Or is there not?

Thanks in advance,

Sheridan

Not sure exactly what your after, but this is how I would pass 8 gates over a single bus, the noteQuant down samples the audio rate bus signal to reduce dsp usage to control rate levels.

Wow thanks! I'm so in your debt. Very Happy But if you could explain the note quantiser bit a bit more thoroughly, I would appreciate it. I couldn't make much sense of the manual's notes (regarding this application anyway).

The note quantizer is used here as a red to blue converter. This is the common trick to go from a red to a blue signal (to save on DSP usage).

So it does nothing except for a sample rate conversion from the red (96 kHz) to the blue (24 kHz) rate, and indeed the manuals and help files won't tell you this.
