Recording of transmediale.03 "Play Global!" now available to download
free of charge
Videos of the opening and award ceremonies, the most interesting of the
transmediale.03 conferences and abstracts on the topics addressed are
now available online.
transmediale.03 ? An international media art festival which will be held
from the 1st to the 5th of February 2003 in the "Haus der Kulturen der
Welt" (House of World Cultures), Berlin:
Is economic and political globalisation also reflected in the creation
of new cultural forms which enable the individual to act in a globally
effective manner? Is there a global artistic language or do often
suppressed local dialects still dominate?
Under the motto "Play Global!", artists, sociologists and media
scientists discussed the artistic and cultural consequences of
globalisation.
The contributions can now be downloaded free of charge from the

2. Talk by Monika Fleischmann / Wolfgang Strauss as part of the
WissensKünste II event organised by the "Zentrum für Literaturforschung"
(Centre for Literary Research) in Berlin.
On Thursday, 8th of January, 2004, M. Fleischmann and W. Strauss, M.
Wagner and E. Pöppel will give a talk in the Hamburger Bahnhof on the
subject of "Art and Science".
"Bilder jenseits des Bildes" (Images Beyond the Image) is the second
part of the WissensKünste series of events organised by the "Zentrum für
Literaturforschung" in Berlin. Over the course of four evenings from now
until February 2004, internationally renowned artists and scientists
will discuss their specific contributions to phenomena in the
scientific, technical and media-related development of culture.
Following this event, recordings and abstracts of these talks will be
published in the media library of netzspannung.org. You can download
talks and articles free of charge from

contributions from S. Gohr, C. W. Evans and B. Groys on the
