Hit Song Science (HSS) |
 |
|
Hit Song Science (HSS) - Offers Singers, Songwriters and Musicians the opportunity to use the latest technology to test their songs for hit potential.
To have a hit song you should ideally be able to answer "yes" to the following three questions:
1. Does the song sound like a hit?
2. Does the song have encouraging mathematical patterns?
3. Does the songs have the right kind of promotion for the current market?
We can only help you answer the second question. But our research has shown that if the answer to that question is "no" your song most likely will not see commercial success and music labels are taking this research very seriously. You should too.
Isn't it fantastic _________________ homepage - blog - forum - youtube

There are some cute videos there:

What these guys are not saying is if the method can be applied to all music or just western MOR pop. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

I suspect that the HSS thing is far from stupid. But it does probably only apply to MOR western pop tunes. One issue is that if everyone starts doing this, this will probably change the rules a bit because a lot of pop music will then realy start to sound the same. But do check out the videos. They explain a lot and raises many questions.
This is a kind of commercial application of what music psychology has been about for years.. making "listening" systems etc etc. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

I checked the video, the 3.5 million songs etc.
It reminds me of Bush Senior and his "1000 points of light" _________________ homepage - blog - forum - youtube

I have something better. It's a Flop-O-Meter. You play a song and it tells you it's a flop. I haven't tested it but I bet it has a better success rate then the hit detector. |

| All you have to do is declare every song a flop and you will have a 99.9% accuracy! |
