SONUS
The Canadian Electroacoustic Community (CEC) announces SONUS, soon to be the world's largest online listening library of electroacoustic music. All electroacoustic composers are welcome to submit works. Sent them on audio CD and SONUS will encode them as mp3 for inclusion. More information and details about submission may be found on the web.

How do they handle rights management and royalties? Many of these composers are probably already registered with som RMA and this means the RMA will claim streaming fees etc etc.?

Submission Guidelines

The Composition must be submitted as audio on CD, CD-R or CD-RW.

The CD and its case must clearly indicate:

1) the name of the Composer

2) the title of the Composition(s)

3) the TOTAL DURATION of the Composition(s)

4) the copyright organisation of the composer (if one exists)

Please inform the production group about any 'special features' in the piece: these may include such things as 'digital noise'; un-expected drops or increases in level; sudden, long and/or unexpected silences, or any other sounds that could be heard by the production group as dropout, loss of signal, failure of the medium or unwanted digital artifact.

Program notes and bio, hardware and software

Program notes and a short bio (total max 150 words) to accompany each submission shall be provided by the Composer by email (as text inside an email message) sent to subs@sonus.ca. We would also like to know what hardware /software were used to compose your piece.

Graphics may be submitted in any format. These may be compressed in JPEG or GIF format and sent via email tosubs@sonus.ca

All submissions will be kept in the CEC's archives and will not be returned.
