Hi everybody
i'm dimitrij, i come from italy (please excuse me for my poor english..)
i study electronics and since in the past i enjoyed a lot playing synths,
i've decided to build my own modular.
as a beginning project, i've choosen paia 2720
now i'm working on the PCB layouts (using eagle layout editor)
but as soon as possible i will start building it.

if someone is interested on my work, or has some schematics-layouts that could be useful for me, just send me a mail.

thanks a lot
ciao
dimitrij

welcome

You should check out the DIY section here. There are many ongoing projects.

That Paia, you are thinking of the current 9700 series?

well, maybe starting with a 9700 is a bit too much, but maybe one day i will.... first i would like to understand how much hardware i need for my music (how many VCO,LFO, wich filter...) before mowing to something that complex...

You can find far simpler stuff, but the 9700 is also very basic. The layout is fairly similar to most of the 2 VCO monophonic synths of the late 70s, but the "modular" design makes it a bit more advanced in many ways.

welcome Glad to have you here.

If you are studying electronics, then building a modular synthesizer is a great project. Years ago, I started building synths and ended up in the electrical engineering profession. Synth circuits are great for learing the basics.

There are lots of engineers, programmers and techonolgists here who are members. Don't be shy in asking questions. Very Happy
