Halion SEND fx

I need some help with halion, how do you use effects and apply the effect to one sample, (not all) i have read the manual several times but it just does not make any sense, it says this:

Decide whether you wish to apply the effect to the whole Program or
to selected samples by selecting the corresponding edit mode (“Select”
or “All”).

i cant see anywhere where it says 'edit mode', 'select', or 'All' in the sound page, i assume it means to select the sample by highlighting it, but this does not work. please i have been trying to figure this out for about 2 hours now, im starting to go crazy
