Hi. Thanks for creating this forum. Opensource is a monthly electronic / laptop open-mic night. I got the idea from a successful event in NYC called Share. There seemed to be a good scene and I was meeting a lot of people who seemed interested in performing live with their laptops and other smaller electronic instruments. It seemed like shows like this were few and far between, and performing at these events was always a hassle and a big production. So opensource is for people to just come up, setup their laptop, keyboard or other small electronic devices and do a short set of their material in an intimate, laid back venue...

The first month OpenSource was held at Cafe Izmir on 9th and South in Philadelphia. It was a good time and there were about 10 very talented performers.

Sounds sample from this night can be found at...

Stay tuned for news about the next OpenSource

Yes, Zynth (Travis) and I went to the first OpenSource. It was lots of fun, but we're sorry to have had to leave so early. I'm looking forward to the next one. I hope to have my Clavia G2 patched up with enough stuff to bring it.

These are great events because there is very little time wasted between performers. Just plug in and go. There is a great deal of variation in the music too. The more of these we do, the better they will get.

Thanks, Mike, for making it happen.
