Korg Poly-61 Help???

I just purchased a korg poly-61 (minus the joystick assembly) and am trying to go through the ropes to make sure all the general functions work....

at the moment, no matter what program i load up on the korg, when i press a ny one key multiple times, it goes through a pattern of the same four notes plus a short/low beep. i am assuming/hoping these was set by some program which i need to disable or change? does anyone know if this is so? or is a problem?

i have a pdf version of the manual, but i was hoping that someone familiar with it might be able to tell me right off the bat.

well i figured out that the key deal seems to be part of the "Chord Memory/Unison" function..... so i'm not crazy, just not familiar enough yet. though, most of the patterns in the poly mode seem to have a high frequency background noise...... *most*.... has anyone noticed something comparable? again, it's probably not a problem.

I guess the arpeggiator was turned on. As for the noise, I have similiar issue with Poly-800, after I screwed a bit with the chorus board - when filter's freq. is set to high values, the sound gets pretty noisy, even when amp envelopes are closed, and I still hold the key - after releasing the noise stops.
