thanks, you can listen to the original version recorded by him in 1983 clicking on the abovementioned web site and selecting the album of which that tune is the title track. _________________ homepage - blog - forum - youtube

Thanks, I did, and listened to your's several more times and would change "very nice" to "rather beautiful." _________________ The question is not whether they can talk or reason, but whether they can suffer. -- Jeremy Bentham |

Some thoughts.
There are many kinds of beauty. But the most difficult and dangerous for the artist to attempt is that which encompasses any form of gentleness, because to achieve that one almost always has to sail perilously close to the shores of the trite and the sentimental. This piece and your interpretation achieve beauty missing those treacherous shores most admirably. _________________ The question is not whether they can talk or reason, but whether they can suffer. -- Jeremy Bentham |

thanks
See what drummer Peter Erskine said about Don Grolnick:
Quote: | His tunes have the simple elegance of a haiku poem, simple at first glance, rich with meaning upon examination and able to stir up or evoke an image or a memory upon every encounter with it. |
