I have been looking all over the place for information about how to go about creating a custom ugen for chuck. Can anyone point me to some documentation? i have visual C++.net 2003 will this be sufficient? if not what compiler should i get?
also
I would like information about making a gui for my chuck programs.
any info about these 2 subjects would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You.

i just downloaded cygwin and got it up and running. i installed the directx for cygwin pakage as well. and i even got the chuck source and compiled it. the copy i compiled works, so i know i now have all the tools required. can someone tell me which source files to look at to see a good example of a ugen? and maybe point me in the right direction on how to make my own?
thanks for your help

i think you could look at the sources of chuck? as far as i know (and i am also new to chuck) there are only the build-in ugens, and no third party ugens yet..
take a look here: http://chuck.cs.princeton.edu/release/

i hope this helps

Hi electroboz,
Visual C++ should be enough to get you going. The chuck source release contains a Visual C++ 6 workspace file for chuck called chuck_win32.dsw. It should probably work for later versions of VC++. You can compile chuck from there like you would anything else.

To start programming ugens, check out ugen_xxx.cpp and ugen_xxx.h, in which the most basic chuck ugens like Noise and Impulse are defined.
