schemo:

-----------------

Hello,
I built this last night, point=to-point wiring, following the schemo.
but with a quad OpAmp (AD713 or similar).
I've some AD633's coming anyday now.
I'm trying to figure out the destination of the "connector pins"...that go to the "mode" switch, SW3....

(board pinouts 1,2,3,4,5)

...and to what kind of switch ?
The photo is not clear, but it looks like a 3PDT or....?

Anyone know this?
--------------
...oh, also....Marc states that the "Z" input is optional, and "Z" must be grounded if not used. I am assuming this means if I do include a "Z" input jack, that it should be a shorting type jack, shorted to ground when nothing is plugged in. Correct?

thanks...pics soon.

Hello - just joined this forum!

The switch in question is a DPDT. It is not obvious how to wire it up even if you bought PCBs from Marc, as I did. See my webpage for more info:

This is one amazing modulator, BTW.

@guitarfool:

Hi, is this top or rear view? The docs I got from Marc show the switch pins the other way around...

If I wire the switch both ways it just doesn't seem to modulate... Evil or Very Mad

SB.

Hi all, I have been lurking for a wile and this is my first post here.

In the AD633 datasheet there is an example "divison" circuit and from that I can roughly determine how to wire the switch, but i can't figure out why the R17 / R18 divider is there or how that fits in the circuit.

Does somebody have an idea how to correctly wire this switch ?

I'm not real clear on this myself. I haven't looked at this in a long time. When the switch is in "divide" mode (4 connected to 5, 1 connected to 3), R18 and R17 attenuate the output of U2 which is fed to the "mix" pot.

I re-uploaded my drawing from before - it must have gotten lost in the big crash a while back. I've posted Marc's version below. The switch is a DPDT (on-on) switch, which is really 2 SPDT (on-on) swiches, so left-right (front-back) doesn't matter. That's why mine is a mirror image Very Happy
