vexed because i had to do it on veroboard...dual pan...dual crossfade...inverter/reversible pots on some cv...comparator mode implemented on all...mixers that mix PAN 1 L with PAN 2 L, that mix PAN 1 R with PAN 2 R, that mix XFADE 1 out with XFADE 2 out, and all, and all.

however i find it to be very clean, noise-wise.

This is a wonderful module.
i repeat it gave my system his (new...) name : The Stereo Hero system. Very Happy
(until i'll go 5.1...)

I don't clearly remember but I guess i only use it on audio signal, don't know why... (there's some DC caps on inputs ? maybe not ?)

Is the inverting buffer at the input really necessary? I'm looking at the original Buchla 207 schematic and don't see any. I think the 1K resistor at the input is there to limit the input current.

Romeo,

Do you still have the 207 schematic? I'd really like to lay out a PCB for the 207, but I can't find the schematic anywhere. Would you mind sharing yours?

I was thinking I'd make some kind of hybrid of the 206 and this Verbos Vactrol Panner-- but the 207 is really what I'm after.

He apparently just put these files up. Pretty awesome.

Can anyone confirm that there must be a mistake in the voltage control stage of this design, found at Mark Verbos' ?

PANNER :

I have been looking at this circuit and trying to figure it out (mainly with respect to the vactrol controls and how the panning is derived).

Afaik the two transistors formed a differential amplifier but there are no resistors on the collectors for dividing voltage. (there are the diodes instead)
Also how come in this design the two emitters are linked by a single resistor?
