Hi Toybox Very Happy Which type pots are you referring to? The panel mounts? If you have an idea or application in mind, perhaps we can help .... Wink

The Futurlec pots are PCB-mount. But that said, I've used dozens of them as panel mount without any problems. Just solder the wires onto the pins. Just as easy as real panel mount pots.

i bend the lugs down straight, then solder the wire straight onto them. i reinforce with shrink tube afterwards.

I always use those Futurlec pots. It helps to go and "tin' the legs and connecting wires first with a little bit of solder, and then solder the two together. If I get a good rhythm going I can wire'em up faster than standard pots. I don't like wrapping the wires around the leads. It makes it too hard to de-solder if you make a mistake. It you solder it well enough you shouldn't have a problem with wires snapping off.

Oh yeah. and heat shrink tubing is fun too.
