You're certainly gonna need a few Frac cases - you're going for 8 modules if I remember right! (enjoy the wiring!)

By the way, I'd forgotten to mention that my layout depends on using 16mm Alpha pots (or something of similar size) - being so tight, any bigger won't fit and I did have to bend all the legs up through 90degrees (actually makes it easier to make connections anyway).

A battery of 8 of these modules would be truly awesome! (though I'm sure I'll be perfectly happy just with two!)

Hint: 12mm Alpha pots. Good feel, D shaft, lots of values available. Readily available from Mouser. Although delivery in the UK might be more troublesome.

Gotta have it!!!

not too late, as far as I understood. They said, that it will be in the store as soon as it is available.

I check the store everyday Smile for the 2nd run of the klee and the MPS.

See? It's moments like this that everyone needs a couple of MPS' to do the "ba-doomp-CHI" sound.

Hit "front page" at the top, you'll find it. It'll be a while yet before these things hit the store - we're still going through the proto measurements with a fine-toothed Studs comb....

did you plan, let's say...about 500 pieces as a first run,

or should I wait for the second batch to put my big finger on this little thing ?

Store button is almost erased from my screen, I can't stop hitting it...

I'm thinking in terms of 6 or 8! I would like to have an entire "kit" of MPS's, all driven from either a Midi interface, or some type of Roland-esque percussion pad. Now, imagine the setup that we would have if we could convince TH to update the clangora to a design that doesn't require those impossible to find 566 chips .....!

It's on the docket for summer; it will also dispense with the NE570.

But first we've got to get the MPS out the door.

Status report: still testing the PCB and cross-comparing output levels.

Thanks!

Hi Tommi,
We're still beta-testing the PCBs - should get that done soon(ish) and then the project will be released through the electro-music.com store (up top - same as the Klee project).

No, you can't find a BOM. You can find just a list of the ICs (just six!) on page one of this thread... I think its the third post or so..
Anyway, thanks for finding the suppliers for me! Very Happy

Yeah, no BOM yet - but there's absolutely nothing hard to get (other than the slightly hard XR2206) - just standard resistors, caps, diodes and transistors (2n3904 & 2N3906 - ie standard NPN and PNP) -- all credit to TH for this!

You'll need, IC-wise::: 3x LM13700, 1 x TL074, 1xCD4046, 1x XR2206

Yes! I found the xr2206 (ordered two of them from my local reseller), i got six lm13700, two 4046, two tl074 and a batch of 100 2n3904 and 3906. So now I got all active components for the mps. I think I'll do on a wooden case and plexiglass panel like i 've done with the Soundlab!
I just have to wait for pcbs... Rolling Eyes I need those sounds!

please i really need to know around 2weeks previous when the Boards will be in the store.
I would be really pissed if i would miss them.

But i don't put myself on fire about such things.
And clicking every day to the shopp with the fear to miss it would be exactly that.

so please keep us informed here in advance!
thanks

Well, I have good news!
After spending waaaaaaay tooo loooong getting my prototype together, I finished it this morning and fired it up. It worked beautifully first try, so we are not far away from a run of boards. Just a couple of test measurements to make, and we should be ready to Rock & Roll! (Ah, maybe that should be Kling & Klang!!)

Here's a quick sample of my MPS supplying the kick drum with my Sorcerer doing a bass line. Both run from the Klee. There's a bit of shell CV modding the MPS to break it up a bit. I've only been playing with it for 15 mins or so, but it is proving to be very versatile, and a lot of fun. There are no dead spots on the pots, and the optional CV ins work quite well.
