Ordered two. Is anyone doing a parts kit?

haven't heard of anyone putting a parts kit together. But, if you go to Scot's web site and look here:

http://mypeoplepc.com/members/scottnoanh/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderfiles/mps_parts_list.pdf

There doesn't seem to be any tough to find parts. I think the only thing that might be is the XR2206.

+edit: I just ordered 10 from Jameco for $3.59 a piece. They have them!

And I'm really glad you order for me aswell! Wink

(Though I guess this could be a problem - since Dego might have asked for like 6? And only will be shipped 2? - but it's for more people then just him..?)

I'm just really happy this is finally happening! Very Happy

Woo hoo! FINALLY - something better than a t filter drum, to go with my Liquid Hihat!! Very Happy

I can't remember for sure - the XR2206 is used on the board? They're also available from Small Bear. That's where I'll be grabbing them from. Smile No Duty to pay, coming from them, to Canada, thankfully. Smile

Your UD-1s might have to sleep on the couch! I've only built one of my MPS boards, but it's got 19 pots, 3 switches and 11 sockets! 2U rack! Shocked Laughing

Holy cow Andy, yes, !!! Very Happy These systems will need standalone cabinets if more than one is built, especially with UD-1's .........

I ordered 4 boards. I might order 4 more. I´m planning a nasty huge cab on wheels for this project.

Wheels.. Tracks might be better... Idea

There is a show called something like Overhaul. They showed there restoration of a Sherman tank at some museum in England.

Seeing a tank rolling down the street is a very sobering sight. But, if you use it as a instrument platform, that would be something else. Laughing

Then you may need a 100kW sound system to cover all that noise...
This could be a great idea for Notting Hill carnival !

Just ordered a couple of MPS boards. Wasn't gonna do this project, but then I heard Scott's sample of him taking the MPS through its paces... I'm a hopeless synth diy addict. Embarassed

Has anyone tried installing individual trigger inputs for all three voices?
It appears that it would just be a matter of replicating the simple trigger in buffer for each channel. I certainly think it would be worth it to have the option of breaking the sounds apart.

Noob question-

Checking out the parts list I'm looking at the capacitors and comparing with what's available at Mouser. Does poly (in the parts list) refer to polystyrene, or polyester film? Also, I didn't have anything listed at Mouser as mylar, but mylar is metallized polyester film, no? Also, there is very little in the list rated at 16v (like the list specifies) in the mouser database, am I correct in assuming a higher rating is OK? Sorry for the remedial questions, but you have to start somewhere, right?

Also, recommendations for reading/tutorial materials that would cover this sort of thing would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Update:

I'm getting behind on shipping out the boards. I'm a bit overwhelmed , but this is a good problem.

I apologize for the delays.

Also, you guys that have received them in white envelops - did they arrive OK?

Yes and no. The boards are fine but the envelope was a wreck and the post office had dropped it all in a new envelope by the time it got to my house. You might want to switch to those cardboard things we used to mail floppy disks in.

Thanks.
