Very beautiful! Do you know if that is that Coula edulus or Goncalo Alves or something else? _________________ The question is not whether they can talk or reason, but whether they can suffer. -- Jeremy Bentham |

Dont' think it's what's usually called Snakewood (piratinera guianensis).

Whoa! Stuning! Never seen anything like that! But it does look a lot like piratinera guianensis though I thought that wood's figure was of a smaller scale. _________________ The question is not whether they can talk or reason, but whether they can suffer. -- Jeremy Bentham |

Cool guitar, Andy!
Meanwhile, my new guitar pickup comes with a hum, it'll have to go to a technician, I reckon. _________________ Where there are too many policemen, there is no liberty. Where there are too many soldiers, there is no peace. Where there are too many lawyers, there is no justice.

I can't wait unti there are affordable super-laptops with the processing power to replace bulky hardware. You can rig up a desktop computer to do some formidable effects... but you always have that processing "roof" on your work. Like the digital modular systems... they're amazing, affordable and often free, but having a limited amount of cables you can hook up takes the fun out of modular synthesis. When your average laptop computer is 16+ gb of ram, 3+ ghz stock, with advanced cooling technology, then I'm sure alot of hardware equipment will be replaced. It's only a matter of time before computers can rival analog equipment in latency and sound quality. |

It is, and having bought it in Blighty, taking it back to the shop may have to wait awhile. Luckily, I work at a vocational school where they also teach electronics - I actually teach the electronics students English! _________________ Where there are too many policemen, there is no liberty. Oh yes, Santa Clause was very very good to me. I received a $1,000 patent royalty check which enabled me to buy a Mac mini computer. This system, with software that I have identified, will enable me to do all kinds of stuff on electro-music radio. This includes live interviews, washing machine shows, special effects, ChucK programs, DAWs, VSTs, whatever all stitched together with Jack OSX.
With this system there will be a single A/D conversion at my microphone and a single D/A conversion at the listener's ears, with everything in between through net and server etc. being pure digital quality. This is going to be so dang cool!

Good trades for a Buchla 222e and a 285e.
Also received an Appendage kit. (only the resistors stuffed, so far) _________________ Chris Muir

Awesome!!!!
and enjoy the Mac too... |
Thanks! I also bought a pair of wireless headphones with Mic (Logitech) which work really great! They are comfy and go 6 hours on a charge. Built in volume control and on/off switch. The only problem so far is that the Mac mini will not boot properly with the wireless USB adapter plugged into it. It stalls, so I have to remove the adapter and put it back in for the Mac mini to boot. This is a problem that I am willing to put up with, but it kind of sucks. Oh well - if that's all I have to complain about then I don't have complaints!
