Cool awesome! Very cool thumping sound, does the powerstarving make that much difference?

The thumping comes from using vactrols. they react fast when lit, but lag when going from light to dark. Et voilá , inbuilt electro drum envelopes.

excellent work Draal!

Really love it, different layers and just a very interesting song. Thinking out loud here, but some sort of passive filtering or even a XOR or NAND gate would add a extra level of interesting sound. I usually patch one of the mixer inputs together with an oscillator into a xor gate and back into another mixer inputl, that gives you two variations(xor sounding more metallic) of the same layer.

Here are some of my recent tracks, they were all made for the upcoming TDM compilation album. Ive used some software effects on a couple of tracks, mainly a touch of spring reverb and a analogue warmth amplifier preset. They are all unedited live recordings and except for the greetingcard module it's all cmos and not a single op-amp or analog circuit. Older recordings can be found under noise in my signature.

I agree. My kinda music. Preserves the hardcore rawness of the Lunetta sounds with compositional form and structure. Well done.

I suggest you post some of your tracks as attachments so we have the opportunity to put them on radio.electro-music.com .

Thanks guys, Im glad there are people out there who appreciate this kind of "music", without you guys there would be no point in making it Smile .

Yeah, I've been wanting to ask you, how much different is the "lunetta" of today from your early machines? Did you use anything like the melodygenerators or XOR gates? Sometimes I feel like im retracing steps taken years ago, like when the romans had concrete and humanity just forgot about it for hundreds of years and later by accident rediscovered it.

Very Happy thanks!

I don't think this is going to make you any wiser, but this is what I posted on The sound of logic forum:
Quote:
This new 4052 is amazing for making fast switching interesting patterns. This is 4053 powered by 2 dividers and 2 fast clocks for the ABC, some weird cv from the 4069 all going into the 4046 with a touch of reverb, that's it! It gives some great control while staying in beat, very important for live patching.

Most of the weird glitches and high pitched sounds come from really overdriving the ic's with very high frequency oscillators tuned in different ways.

But I really couldn't repeat the same sounds again, that's what I love about my machine!

i just got some 4052's in the mail- the 2 ins 4 outs right? Did you just wire each pin to a jack mostly? Or did you put pots on each of the outputs to vary the voltages?

the 4069... is that wired as an LFO?

and the 4046 i assume is wired up as a vco.... gotta get me some of that next order.

It's actually a 4 bit version of the 4051. You get two 4:1 multiplexors, 2 control bits(A and B)and an inhibit input.
I added a picture to show how I build it, just wired all the pins straight to headers, the lay-out on this ic happens to work really well as it is.

Quote:

Yes and no Smile. It is wired as the scott gravenhorst triangle LFO but I left out the limiting resistor so it also goes into freak out audible range when the pot is turned all the way. Im not sure anymore but that might be what happened in Teknologic.

Quote:

Yup, great IC. I have one on my breadboard for weeks now and it's just a great allround module. It works nice as a VCO but I also use cv on pin 7 in between the resistor and pot with nice freakish results. That's the thing with these cmos ic's, use and abuse them in every possible way and there are some cool hidden gems to be found Smile.

Finished another track this week. It's called WormSign. All lunetta with no filters or anything fancy. Used: 40106 oscillators, a 4040 ripple counter, a 4051/4017 melody gen, An AND ic and a XOR ic and a 4015 shift register.

Ok, Ill just keep posting then, another gabber/techno track Smile.

The uploaded version is the bare track recorded with a little spring reverb.
13-10-2010 Butter flavoured mouthwash by Tropical Benny
On this one I played with some effects(reverb, delay and flanger) while the recording was running with a midicontroller.
