Did you send the artwork that's in the PDF files in his zip package? Or, did you find eagle (or other) PCB files? I don't see that latter files anywhere so I am guessing it's the PDF.
Those look a little tricky for home etching, with my limited experience so sending them out is a good idea. |

Yes,I sent two pdfs (top copper/bottom copper) to the shop and they got the boards made from that layout.

That`s why I sent them to the pcb-service... _________________ Best regards

That's the question. I asked if anyone was interested in organizing, partly because it seemed like people kept "ordering" when there was nobody taking the orders. However, I wasn't offering myself up for that role. For one thing, I'm n00b enough that I wouldn't trust myself to deal with a big PCB order, even if it's as easy as sending off a few PDFs.
I'd buy one or two, though, although I have yet to troubleshoot my own RLPG. |

ps: i never organized a group buy
but if it can help
i was checking this site a while ago:
http://www.pcb-pool.com/
they look pretty professional
and they also produce front panels
maybe if we are enough people to make the order
could be also not so expensive
another good thing would be to have directly all the components
better if is ordered from one single distributor...
so that the board doesn't sit in a corner for months waiting for a missing part
....thats my little opinion
even if i'm a total beginner
i already built a couple of midibox sid
and the good thing about this project was that with 1 or 2 orders was possible to have all the parts in more or less one month
i always go crazy when i have to check thusands of web sites to compare prices .... |

@brother303- some of us aren't as ready and adventurous to do some home etching. Im also still trying to get all the right gear to make sdiy easy and successful that starting getting stuff for home etching is super daunting! One day I will join you in that realm, unril then, group buys!
Ill talk to a few folks, I know j3rk just did a goregous run of 258 clones and the boards came out beautiful. Also, matthias/fonik is doing another run of the thomas whitex-4046 vco.
I haven't tried to get any boards made.but maybe ill try to organizethis group buy..... |

I wish someone could take these files, or new ones, and redesign this board to host at least 2 LPGs. It's such a small circuit; it just makes sense to house more than one if you're having boards manufactured.
Seems like most builders are designing their panels for 2, if not more, and having them on one PCB makes assembly much easier.
I unfortunately don't have the resources to run this kind of PCB layout software, or I would give it a try myself. But, if someone else could design the board, I'd be happy to conduct the goup buy. |

Seems to be alot of interest in this. I have plans to do a dual LPG (no resonance, though the parts for it could be laid out on the PCB) that would fit in a 1" Serge format. I would have no problem doing a run... but it could be quite a while before I get around to it.
Anyone know why TW is not interested in doing another run. Is it an issue with Buchla?

Hi,
try www.platinenbelichter.de .
I paid around 20-25 Euros for two 80x100mm pcbs (put on one 100x160mm board).

Me too! That´s why I got the boards cooked by a pcb-service.

Sorry if I'm being redundant, but, are you talking about the two Adobe files? Top and Bottom Copper? They were able to manufacture the boards from that? |

That´s right! I took both files and sent them to the pcb-service.
TO ALL BUILDERS: Don`t forget to solder the via-holes!!!
They are not contacted thru the board. Put in a cutted resistor-leg and solder from both sides!

Was this true of the Thomas White version too? And is it generally true of PCBs, or just ones bought through small-run PCB services?
I'm curious because this might be one reason my Thomas White LPG doesn't work. (Haven't gotten around to troubleshooting yet!) |

Sorry for confusion.
It´s only true for home-etched pcbs or pcbs from a small pcb-service as I used for my boards. AFAIK there is no need to solder the vias on the original factory-made White-pcbs.
